PURPLE WAVE PETUNIAS

Don't you just love purple wave petunias?

Purple wave petunias have intensely colored blooms that are great for hanging baskets and pots.  They are heat tolerant and perfect for dry soils.   They need lots of sun and grow 4-6 inches in height and spread 4-5 feet. The only down fall I can think of - They are annuals.

Robin And Babies!

For weeks I have been mad at my dog for digging in the bark chips and spreading them into the grass.  Yesterday I found out the truth!  This mama robin is finding worms for her babies and making a mess in the meantime!

I finally got a photo of her babies so I can't be mad at her.

I think there are only 2 chicks in her nest.  I will let you know if I photograph more.
This is a beautiful place to build a little nest, isn't it! ;)

PICTURE FRAME SEDUM PLANTER

I've been waiting for my husband to hang this picture frame sedum box for a week so I could post pictures.  Isn't it lovely.  This is called vertical gardening.  It makes great use of space especially when you have a small yard or garden area. It's just like hanging a piece of art in your home.

I found this link on how to make your own outdoor living art picture.  Enjoy!

Bird Bath filled with Sedum & Succulents

I've had this bird bath for years.  I never fill it with water  because I fear it will be a breeding zone for mosquitos.  I finally found a purpose for it.  Sedum and Succulents! These plants are so popular among gardeners this year.  I am happy to have found this trend!

Sedum and Succulents need very little attention.  You can plant them where there is very little water and abundant sunshine.  Make sure the sedum or succulents you plant are hardy in your zone.  Most are hardy from zone 3-9. Sedum varies in height from just a few inches tall to 3 feet tall. Although they are generally used as ground cover, the trend of the year is to plant them in containers.  I've seen them planted in wagons, strawberry pots, buckets, pails, terra cotta pots, and wooden boxes.  I can't wait to post pictures of my wooden box.  I got it for Mother's Day.  I need to find the perfect place for it before I take pictures.

Red, Orange, Yellow, & Pink Pots

So...... I have a thing for pink.  But my front porch pots are Red & Orange.  So every year I force myself to plant Red, Orange & Yellow in my front yard.
This year I found new and exciting plants!

As you can tell I did mix in Pink!
I've taken a photo of all the tags so you could purchase these varieties of annuals for yourself!
I'm so happy with the color scheme of my pots this year.

Double Hybrid Pink 'Angelique' Tulips

I am so impressed with these lovely tulips this year.
They just take my breath away.

I love it when a photo turns out just right.

Look at the amazing detail inside each tulip.
What a stunning blossom!

The color of this tulip is so elegant and dainty.

What a joy to live in such a beautiful world.
